Gilbert E. Godby

Gibert E. Godby, 85, of Covington, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at Village Care Center in Erlanger. He was a retired waiter and host at Queen City Club in Cincinnati.  Gil was a member of First Baptist Church in Ludlow.  He was a hardworking and loving husband, father and grandfather.  He was a very outgoing and friendly man who never met a stranger.  Gil was an avid Citizens Band Radio operator and he loved playing cards and working jigsaw puzzles.  He also loved fireworks and always put on an impressive display at Independence Fair Grounds.

Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Betty Godby; sons, Mark Gilbert Godby of Cincinnati, Paul Douglas Godby of West Chester, Jeffrey Steven Godby of Montgomery, AL; daughters, Pamela Susan Godby of Cincinnati, Michele Lynn Peterson of Florence, Cynthia Louise Dean of Dayton, OH, Angela Nicole Aiello of Middletown, OH; brother, Richard Lee Godby of Copley, OH; 20 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Godby; sister, Rita Ann Hodke and grandson, Daniel “Max” Gumm.

Visitation is on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 10:00 AM until the hour of Service at 12:00 PM all in First Baptist Church, 400 Linden Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.

Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill, KY.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church.
