For over 80 years, we have served the Northern Kentucky community by providing healing and meaningful funeral and memorial services that honor life and meet the needs of those who grieve. Our hope is that from the moment you walk through our doors, you feel welcomed, respected, and heard.
Our History
Our funeral home was founded in Ludlow, Kentucky, in 1935 by Raymond P. Catherman and Daniel Bullock. The newly established funeral home, located at 254 Latta Ave, was known as Bullock and Catherman Funeral Home until the untimely death of Daniel Bullock in 1943. After Mr. Bullock’s death, Mr. Catherman became the sole owner and operator of the funeral home, then known as Catherman Funeral Home.
In 1946, Catherman purchased the Bentley House at 316 Elm Street in Ludlow, which is still the location of the funeral home today. One year later, in 1947, Ronald Jones was employed by Mr. Catherman as a teenager. They partnered in 1953, and the firm became known as the Catherman & Jones Funeral Home. In 1960, Ronald purchased the firm from Mr. Catherman, and the firm remained known as the Catherman & Jones Funeral Home until 1964, when Ron changed the name to Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home.
In Memory of Ronald B. Jones
Ronald B. Jones, 95, who lovingly presided over the funerals of hundreds of Northern Kentuckians as founder of the Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home in Ludlow, died January 26 at his home in Crestview Hills, surrounded by his family.
Jones, who friends warmly remembered as “the ultimate Ludlow success guy,” served as an active member of the community for many years, known for his good nature, positive attitude — and his love for Ludlow.
He was a devoted family man and a committed community servant.
