Virginia Ruth Ridge, 91, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2024, at Baptist Village in Erlanger, Kentucky.
Virginia was a retired Secretary for the Salvation Army. She was known for her dedication to her work and her family. She cherished her time with her loved ones, especially her children and grandchildren. Her warm and loving nature touched the hearts of everyone she met, earning her the reputation of a dedicated mother and grandmother who was adored by all.
Apart from her professional career, Virginia had a diverse set of interests. She had a passion for collecting nutcrackers and enjoyed poetry, having published two poetry books, and being a member of the National Poet Society. Her hobby reflected her creativity and zest for life.
Throughout her lifetime, Virginia faced challenges with resilience and courage. As a breast cancer survivor, she not only triumphed over adversity but also dedicated herself to volunteering at the Breast Cancer Unit at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Her selflessness and compassion left a lasting impact on those around her.
Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Louis Ridge, daughter, Suzan Ridge; brothers Robert and Tom Snow; and sisters Dorothy Newland and Myrtle Querbach.
Her survivors are her sons, Kenneth (Loralee), Raymond (Virginia), and William (Joyce) Ridge; grandchildren, Jessica (Will) Wheeler, Aaron, Amber, Logan (Megan), Cassie (Zach) Heck, Margaret (Brendan) Withers, Reagan, Hannah, Ryan, Kyle, Michael, Genevieve, Asher, Sebastian, Suzanne, Michael, Andrew (Courtney), Allison, Ashley; six great-grandchildren; nephews, Robert (Teresa) Snow, Tony and Mike Newland; niece, Dana (Bruce) Conner.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 2:00 PM to the hour of Memorial Service at 4:00 PM, all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
Virginia Ruth Ridge will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy of compassion and resilience will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
