Stephen "Steve" A. Riesenberg

Stephen "Steve" A. Riesenberg, 89, of Edgewood, KY, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  

Steve was born on September 1, 1934, in Newport, Kentucky, and dedicated his life to his faith and family.   He began his career as a young salesman selling industrial chemicals for Brulin Company and achieved the prestigious Salesman of the Year title. His passion for sales led him to continue his journey of becoming an independent salesman.

Steve will always be remembered for his kindness towards others and his positive impact on everyone he met. His charismatic personality shone through as he always smiled and never knew a stranger. He was a very faithful person who cherished spending time with his family. His proudest accomplishments included being a devoted member of St. Pius X Catholic Church for 59 years and actively volunteering within the community.   Steve served as a Eucharistic Minister and CCD educator at St. Pius X for several years.   In addition, he took on the daunting task of chairing the Holy Cross Festival in the 1960’s and the St. Pius X Summer Festival soon thereafter. 

Steve served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his country.

He is survived by his loving wife, of 69 years, Arlene Riesenberg; sons, Paul (Kathy), and John; daughters, Julie Parton, Mary (Mark) Keller, Jenny (John) Bent; daughter-in-law, Beth Uhlenbrock; grandchildren Rachelle (Mike) Routzon, Mark Ryan Riesenberg, Christopher (Krista) Riesenberg, Matthew (Hannah) Parton, Leighanna (Kayne) Westhoff, Hillary Keller, Parker Keller, Britney (Kevin) Heath, Max (Jenna), Lincoln, Elliot, Oliver, Dexter, Gus, and Faith Bent; great-grandchildren,  Brynn and Aubrie Guenther, Beau, Reese and Baker Parton, Brody Pinto, Sofia Riesenberg, and Bennett Westhoff.

Steve is preceded in death by his son, Mark Riesenberg; grandchildren, Joseph and Dorothy Rae Riesenberg; brothers, Herman "Bud" and Donald "Don" Riesenberg and sister, Betty Jean Watters.

A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at 6:00 PM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 348 Dudley Road, Edgewood, KY, 41017.  A Celebration of Life event will immediately follow in Milligan Hall at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
