Ronald Gene Price

Ronald Gene Price, 84, of Florence, Kentucky, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice. Born on February 14, 1940, in Covington, Kentucky, he lived a life rich with service, family, and personal passions.

Ronald dedicated a significant portion of his career to the Norfolk Southern Railroad (39 Years), working as a conductor and earning the respect of his peers and community. His commitment was underscored by his service in the United States Army, which instilled a sense of discipline and dedication that he carried throughout his life.

Ronald was a devoted family man, whose proudest accomplishments revolved around his loved ones. He cherished his wife of 66 years and high school sweetheart, Raetta Price. An earnest example of true love and commitment. Ronald was a loving father to sons, Chad Price of Richmond, KY, Dale (Tamara) Price of Union, KY, and Rhonda Price of Florence, KY, his brother, Lawrence Price of Florence, KY; and his sisters, Florence Klosterman of Delhi, OH and Barbara Sue (Timothy) O'Dell of Florence, KY. The laughter and joy brought by his children, 3 grandchildren (Ashleigh, Ciara and Shaelyn) and 2 great-grandchildren (Marley and Jace) filled his heart with immeasurable pride. He took great delight in spending quality time with his family, celebrating life’s moments together.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lee Price; his father, Alonzo Price; his mother, Mae Price and one infant son.

An avid fan of Kentucky Basketball and the Cleveland Browns, Ronald had a deep appreciation for sports that fostered camaraderie and joy in his life. His hobbies included woodworking, maintaining his yard, and indulging his passion for cars and motorcycles. Among his many interests, he found serenity on the golf course, where he enjoyed playing rounds outdoors. Halloween held a special place in his heart, a testament to his love for creativity and fun.

His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his zest for life, and the joy he brought to every gathering.

Visitation will be held on February 4, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the hour of Memorial Service at 12:00 PM all at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home located at 316 Elm St, Ludlow, KY 41016. Ronald will be laid to rest at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY, starting at 2:00 PM the same day.
