Robert D. "R.D." Bell, 66, of Erlanger, passed away on November 25, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare surrounded by his loving family. R.D. lived a life dedicated to his family and community.
A proud veteran, he served honorably in the United States Navy. R.D. made significant contributions in his professional life as the Plant Manager at Crescent Paper Tube, where he was respected for his leadership and work ethic.
R.D.’s passions extended beyond his career. He had a profound love for sports and dedicated numerous years to coaching baseball, football, and basketball. His enthusiasm for the game was only matched by the joy he felt watching his children excel on the field. R.D.’s warmth and kindness made him a cherished figure in the lives of many, as he welcomed everyone with open arms.
He was deeply devoted to his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Maureen Bell, and his sons, L.D. (Kristina) Bell and Joe (Amanda) Bell, who were the center of his world. His grandchildren, Bria, Coleston, Luna, Elli, and Aubree, brought him great joy and pride, and he cherished every moment spent with them. R.D. is also survived by his nephew UE (Susan) Bell, who held a special place in his heart.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Helen Bell, and his brothers, Eugene Bell and Jim McIntosh.
The family will organize a celebration in his honor at a later date and time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.
R.D.’s legacy is that of an intelligent, kind, and welcoming individual whose impact will be felt by all who knew him.
