Ralph Joseph Lentsch, 89 of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, passed away on November 12, 2023. He was born on March 15, 1934, to the late Amelia and Frank Lentsch. Ralph grew up in Queens, New York, one of four children. He graduated from Brooklyn Technical High School, and later from Pratt Institute with a degree in architecture. He served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Knox, Kentucky. As an architect and project manager he traveled extensively working for Bechtel Corporation and Proctor and Gamble. Ralph married Doris Caminiti in 1964 and together had three children. They lived in New York, then moved to Louisville, Kentucky in 1973 where they remained until 2021. Ralph was known for his professional expertise, but also for his humor and playfulness. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, building model airplanes, playing sports with his kids, listening to Neil Diamond, and lingering at the dinner table with wine, coffee, a tasty digestif, and lively conversation. Ralph was a truly devoted family man who deeply loved his wife, his children, grandchildren, and extended family.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Amelia Lentsch; brother, Frank Lentsch, Jr.; sister, Marie Lentsch and brother-in-law, John Goebel.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 59 years, Doris Lentsch; children, Eric Lentsch of Charleston, SC, Celeste (Monty) Hopkins of Anderson, OH, Alex (Sherry) Lentsch of Hebron, KY; grandchildren, Daniel Hopkins, Sarah Hopkins, Jake Lentsch, Lauren Spuzillo, Phillip Lentsch, Eleni Lentsch, Avery Lentsch, Aidan Lentsch; 2 great- grandchildren; sister, Emilie Goebel of New Jersey and many nieces and nephews.
