Paul "Bub" Ray Oberschlake, 82, of Edgewood, Kentucky, was a cherished husband, father, and loyal friend. He passed away peacefully on Monday, April 14, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, Kentucky, surrounded by his loving family.
Paul dedicated a significant portion of his life to his career as a machinist, retiring from Cincinnati Milacron with a proud legacy of hard work and commitment. His contributions extended beyond the workplace; he was a passionate member of the Central Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a past board member. His faith and community were of great importance to him.
Paul was a man of adventure with a heart that soared across the globe. He loved to travel, exploring various countries including China, Australia, Germany, and Italy, which enriched his life and offered countless stories and memories to share with family and friends. His vibrant personality reflected his spirit; he was a welcoming, gracious, and loving man who embodied the essence of a social butterfly. Paul was the life of the party, thriving during celebrations that brought joy to those around him.
An avid sports fanatic, Paul's enthusiasm for the game complemented his love for golfing. He was a devoted supporter of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds. His true pride, however, lay in his family. He was deeply committed to raising his children and coaching their sports teams in soccer, baseball, basketball, and softball. His greatest accomplishments were the bonds he formed and the love he nurtured within his family.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Deborah Oberschlake, son, Paul "Tony" A. (Andrea) Oberschlake, daughter Sandy (Jeff) Geiger, son, James (Paula) Arnett, daughter Jennifer (Andy) Meehan, and daughter Pam (Joe) Volker . He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, 9 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren, all of whom will remember him with deep affection.
He is preceded in death by his sister Lois Kay and brother-in-law Richard, who join him in fond memory.
The visitation is Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 10:30 AM to the hour of service at 12:00, all at the Central Church of the Nazerene, 2006 Pieck Dr, Fort Wright, Kentucky 41011. Interment at Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky.
