Marilyn I. Stonum

Marilyn Stonum, 93, of Newport, KY was reunited with her husband in heaven on Sunday, November 5, 2023.  Marilyn was a dedicated member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Newport where she was a member of the Women’s Lutheran Guild until the church closed. She enjoyed playing the organ and piano at church. Marilyn avidly watched and fed the birds in her yard.  She was a homemaker and amazing mother who was devoted to her children and family.     

Marilyn is survived by her children, Robert Stonum of Louisville, KY, Ronald Stonum of Beavercreek, OH, Mark (Frances) Stonum of Summerville, SC,  Diane (Jerry) Stonum-Smith of Cincinnati, OH and Michael (Teresa) Stonum of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Elizabeth (Robert) Yost of Coleridge, NE, Ruth (Donald) Tucker of Omaha, NE; 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. 

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Kenneth Stonum, her parents, Leslie and Ella Lauersen; sister, Shirley Crom, daughter-in-law, Jenifer Stonum, and great-grandson Donovan McQueen.

Visitation will be held Friday, November 10, 2023, from 12:00 PM until the hour of Service at 1:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY.

Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill, KY.
