Karen R. Cregar

Karen R. Cregar, a beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully in her residence on August 24, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 26, 1951 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Karen made a profound impact on all who had privilege of knowing her. She graduated from the Oak Hills school system, and then pursued a degree as an RN from the Deaconess School of Nursing in 1972.  Karen spent her entire working career in the healthcare industry. 

Karen's family and close friends were the most important things to her.  She cherished spending quality time with her loved ones, and her grandchildren were the light of her life. She enjoyed numerous adventures including camping and traveling, with cruises being among her favorite getaways.  She also enjoyed the warm weather, bowling and ballroom dancing.  She was always willing to give a helping hand or lend an ear to listen. Her kindness, loyalty, love and humor touched everyone around her and enriched the experiences they shared together.  The love and support of her family were a constant source of strength throughout her life.

Karen is survived by her father, Eugene Schroeder of Villa Hills, KY, her son, Darrick (Michelle) Cregar of Nancy, KY, her daughter, Dora (Dave) Kelm of Villa Hills, KY, several grandchildren, Dana, Delaney, Drew, Devin, Courtney, Ashlee, Megan and Josh, great-grandchild, Isabella, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Cregar, her mother, Felicia Schroeder, and her brother, Dale Schroeder, Sr., and sister-in-law, Edythe Schroeder.

Visitation will be held on September 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, both taking place at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home located at 316 Elm St, Ludlow, KY. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell at 1:00 PM.

Karen Cregar's legacy will endure through the hearts of her family and friends, who will remember her love, kindness and loyalty for years to come. She leaves behind a cherished memory that will never fade.
