Joyce K. Carf, 70 of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025, at her residence. Born on December 11, 1954, in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, Joyce was a shining star full of kindness and generosity throughout her life.
Joyce worked as a Fulfillment Associate for Gibson Greeting Cards, where she was known for her dedicated work ethic and warm personality. A valued community member, she went on to work at Protect 4 Paws Animal Shelter where she took care of the animals, in which she loved before retiring .
A devoted family woman, Joyce took great pride in her family and grandchildren, who were among her proudest accomplishments. She is survived by her daughters, Tonya (Will Housley) Ratliff and Kayla (Garland) Varney; step-daughter, Mendy Hudson; stepson, Jimmy (Amber) Carf, Jr.; as well as her cherished grandchildren: Era Englemon, Mia (Andrew Arnold) Englemon, Michael Englemon,Emani Mack, Shaunna Quebedeaux, and Brittany Robinson. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren, Demareon, Kyla, Ye’miah, and Nova. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, James Slover.
Joyce was known for her kind, giving, and selfless nature, always ready to lend an ear or provide thoughtful advice to those around her. Her interests included being an avid fan of the University of Kentucky and the Cincinnati Bengals, as well as pursuing hobbies that included cooking, camping, and traveling. Her genuine love for life and her family resonated deeply with everyone she encountered.
She has been preceded in death by her loving husband, Jimmy Carf; her sisters, Joann (Lewis) Combs and Barbara Slover, who will surely be waiting to embrace her with open arms and her faithful, furry companion, Mookie.
Visitation services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to the hour of service at 12:00 PM all at Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, Kentucky 41016.
Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, KY, and burial will take place on February 26, 2025, at 4:00 PM.
Joyce K. Carf will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her spirit of generosity and warmth will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
