Freda Thomason, 92, a beloved member of the Cincinnati community, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospice. She was born November 13, 1931, and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and love.
Freda was preceded in death by her parents Louie Ray and Lorene and her four brothers Oscar Lee Roy, Clyde Bonham, Alvy Ray and Louie Oren.
Freda is survived by sisters-in-law Brenda, Sue, Sharon, Roberta and Nancy too. Also by three generations of nieces and nephews.
Throughout her life, Freda excelled in her career as an Executive Secretary with The Johnson & Johnson Company in Cincinnati, Ohio. Her commitment and hard work were an inspiration to all who worked alongside her. Freda's professionalism and organizational skills were unmatched, making her an invaluable asset to the company.
Outside of her professional life, Freda was deeply involved in her community and had a profound impact on others through her 60 years of involvement with Carthage Church Of-Nazarene in Cincinnati. For decades, she served as the church treasurer, dedicating countless hours to support the mission of the church. She also supported many ministries including the missions group, VBS and the Nazarene board. Her unwavering devotion to her faith was evident in everything she did.
Freda had a warm heart that touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She cherished spending time with her family and loved ones - they were the center of her world. She had a special place in her heart for her sisters-in-law. Though she never had children of her own, Freda considered her three generations of nieces and nephews to be like her own children.
In addition to her successful career and dedication to her church, Freda enjoyed various hobbies and interests that brought joy into her life. She found pleasure in sewing, crafting, gardening, photography, genealogy, bird watching and being an avid reader.
Visitation is Thursday, December 21, 2023, from 10:00 AM until the hour of Service at 11:00 AM all in Torch Community Church, 6767 Hopeful Road, Florence, KY 41042. Interment in Woodlawn/Oaklawn Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR.
Freda's impact on the lives of others will not be forgotten. Her professionalism, generosity, and unwavering faith continue to inspire everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. The legacy she leaves behind serves as a reminder of the importance of living a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to God.
