Donald John Finck, 87, of Covington, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospice. He was a dedicated family man whose loving and kindhearted nature touched the lives of all who knew him.
Donald graduated from Bellevue High School, an accomplishment that would forever remain a point of pride for him. He served in the United States Army, demonstrating his commitment to his country. Following his military service, he built a successful career as a foreman for Litton Conveyer Systems, where he was respected by his colleagues for his hard work and leadership.
An avid sports enthusiast, Donald had a lifelong passion for athletics. He was particularly fond of the University of Kentucky basketball and football teams, holding season tickets for the Cincinnati Bengals for many years. His own athletic achievements included winning a state championship in high school football, a memory cherished deeply. He delighted in watching his grandson coach college football, a testament to the pride he took in his family’s accomplishments. Donald was known for never missing a sporting event involving his grandchildren, as their triumphs brought him immense joy.
He cherished his time spent with family and friends, often joining his high school buddies for coffee every Saturday morning. His warmth and devotion to those he loved created lasting memories; he was a loving father, grandfather, and friend whose presence will be profoundly missed.
Donald is survived by his son, David (Michele) Finck of Hebron; and grandchildren, Danielle Bramlage (Greg), Zachary Finck (Serenna), Miranda Heidrich (Adam), Ryan Finck (Miranda) and Bret Finck; great grandchildren, Peighton, Morgan, Wyatt, Nolan, Rose and Banks.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kathleen Finck; his father, Donald Finck; his mother, Viola Finck (née Braun); his son, Donald "Chip" Finck Jr.; his sister, Barbara Lockard; and his grandson, Tyler Finck.
Visitation will take place on Monday, March 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at Sts. Boniface & James Church, located at 304 Oak St, Ludlow, KY 41016. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, located at 2201 Dixie Highway, Ft Mitchell, KY 41017.
Donald John Finck's legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, whose lives he touched with his kindness and unwavering support. His memory will forever be cherished, and he will remain a guiding light for those who loved him.
