Cresto Arellano
Cresto Arellano, 44, of Chicago, IL, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. As an organ donor, he gave the gift of life to people desperately awaiting transplant, consistent with his kindness and generosity. Cresto had a warm and loving heart and never met a stranger; his close friends jested that his spirit animal was the South American capybara, known for its gregarious nature.
He was employed as a stagehand with IATSE Cincinnati Stagehands Local 5 in Cincinnati, Ohio and as a Tennis Pro at Tennis on the Lake in Chicago, Illinois.
He was a fashionista, known for his amazing fashion flare, hardcore foodie and avid fan of movies and Anime. He was hilariously funny and loved telling jokes to bring smiles to the many faces he met throughout life. Cresto will be dearly missed but remembered as a “remarkable person who brought joy, love, and kindness into the lives of all those fortunate enough to have known him.”
Cresto is preceded in death by his father, Andres Arellano (2020).
He will be greatly missed by his loving mother, Minda Arellano; sister, Rowena Arellano; nephews, Christopher Ross and Liam London Mitchell in Chicago, IL; Par’Mach’kai, Lydia MacKenize of Covington, KY; spirit brothers, Joel Cabusao and Joey Jorge both of Chicago; and father-in-law, Eric Furman of Covington, KY.
Visitation is at Colonial Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 6250 N. Milwaukee Ave., Chicago IL, from 3-9 pm CDT. There will be a service at 7 pm.
