Carolyn L. Hurst

Carolyn L Hurst, 79, of Independence, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

Her dedication to her family was unwavering as she embraced her role as a homemaker with grace and love. In her free time, she found joy in traveling and playing cards, bringing smiles to those around her with her vibrant spirit. Carolyn's proudest accomplishment was receiving her diploma from Boone County Schools in 1999.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Jim Hurst and sister Sue Neace. Carolyn is survived by her loving children: James (Jennifer) Borders of Lexington, Scott (Jessica) Borders of Frankfort, Dawn (Rex Mullins) Borders of Independence; stepchildren: Dorothy Kimes of Delaware, Ohio; James Hurst of Columbus, Ohio; Timothy Hurst of Columbus, Ohio; brother Benny Lewis of Ft. Wright; sisters, Ann Russell of Alexandria and Hattie Williams of Ellenwood, GA; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is on Thursday, July 25, 2024, from 10:00 AM until the hour of Service at 12:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.

Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Taylor Mill, Kentucky.
