Albert Joseph Schreiver, III, 86, of Edgewood, KY passed away peacefully on February 28, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital Edgewood. Albert was born August 21, 1938 to the late Albert “Bud” and Ruth (Bell) Schreiver, Jr.
Albert was a proud graduate of Blessed Sacrament School and Covington Catholic High School class of 1956. Albert made many lifelong friendships. He loved attending monthly breakfasts at Pee Wee’s with his CCH classmates of 1956. His commitment to education and service was evident throughout his life.
Albert met his late wife June (Torline) Schreiver at the St. Mary’s cantina dance in Covington. They married June 18, 1960 at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Covington. They were blessed with 8 wonderful children.
Albert was a third generation owner of Swan Floral and Gift Shop in Erlanger, KY. His wealth of knowledge and love of plants was unmatched by anyone. He propagated many plants including orchids, violets and succulents. Albert had a passion for model trains, cameras, photography, gardening, collecting stamps and coins. Albert loved having his camera with him everywhere taking pictures. He even would print out the photos to make sure everyone had a copy. Albert also enjoyed watching his family play sports and would disappear to the concession stand to get a Reese's cup. He loved the Reds, Bengals and UK basketball.
Albert loved his Catholic faith and this was evident with his children, sending them to Catholic schools. He attended St. Pius X Church, Edgewood. He was a member of the Knights of St John and was a co-founder of Boy Scouts Troop 779 at St Pius X Church. His contributions were many, but his unwavering support and encouragement of his community stood as a testament to his character.
Many called him Albert, Dad and Grandad. He brought a smile wherever he went and will be deeply missed. He will be lovingly remembered for the warmth he shared, the beauty he created, and his unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched, the floral arrangements and planters he crafted, symbolizing the life he led—full of color, joy, and unending grace.
Family was the cornerstone of Albert’s life. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 28 years, June (Torline) Schreiver. He is survived by his children: AJ (Teresa) Schreiver IV of Edgewood, Jeff (Kitten) Schreiver of Edgewood, Steve Schreiver of Davenport, FL, Dave (Jackie) Schreiver of Edgewood, Suzanne (Jon) Baute, Janel Schreiver, Lynne (Chris) Brauch and Deborah (Ken) Blau all of Edgewood. Adding to the joy in his life were his 19 grandchildren: Kayla (Kyle) Overbay, AJ (Casey) Schreiver V, Jacob (Caite) Schreiver, Brittany Schreiver, Jenna (Derek) Leistner, Kelsey Schreiver, Katelyn Schreiver, Grant (Taylor) Schreiver, Nathan Baute, Tyler Schreiver, Jaret Schreiver, Hannah Baute, Emma Brauch, Jack Blau, Blake Brauch, Claire Baute, Charlie Blau, Sophie Brauch, Ella Blau and 9 great-grandchildren: Rory Schreiver, Aidan Overbay, Zooey Schreiver, Henry Overbay, Brecklyn Schreiver, Kash Leistner, Albert “Vinn” Schreiver VI, Kason Leistner and Blakely Schreiver. His grandchildren and great grandchildren filled his days with laughter and love and will carry on his spirit.
Visitation will be on March 11 from 2:00 PM until the hour of Mass of Christian Burial at 5:00 PM all at St. Pius X Church, 348 Dudley Rd, Edgewood, KY 41017. Interment is March 12, 2025 at 11:30 AM in Spring Grove Cemetery, 4521 Spring Grove Ave., Cincinnati, Ohio.
