Margie Bishop

Margie V. Bishop, 89, of Stanford, KY, passed away on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Ephraim McDowell Fort Logan Hospital. Margie was a dedicated hard worker and loved her family. Her first job was in a pie factory in Covington Ky. Margie and her husband, William, with the help of their 4 boys, ran/owed Bishop’s Yacht Club/Boat Harbor where she was a cook/ bartender on River Rd.  She was also a seamstress at Calvins in Lancaster and she later ran the Bishop’ family dairy farm with her husband and family. She worked at the Bishop’s Feed Mill in Pulaski Co. with her son Elbert and husband, William Bishop.

Survivors include her special granddaughter and caregiver, April Bishop ; 12 grandchildren and 2 still born; 30 + great grandchildren and 7+ great great grandchildren and a plus one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, William Bishop (2020) and sons, Elbert (2007), Donnie (2014) Lonnie (2014) and Jim Bishop (2020).

Visitation is on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM at Spurlin Funeral Home, 411 W Main St., Stanford, KY 40484.  A second visitation is on Thursday, July 29, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.

Interment in Petersburg Cemetery, Petersburg, KY.
