Edward Helmer

Edward “Ed” Helmer, 85, of Edgewood, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. He was Vice President of Operations for Propane Transportation International. Ed was a wonderful husband, father, grandpa, and the rock of the family. He was a compassionate man who never met a stranger. He would do anything for anyone. Ed loved working on cars and racing. After Sunday coffee with his boys, you could always find him enjoying NASCAR Races.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Elma Helmer of Edgewood; sons, Steve (Patty) Helmer of Ludlow, Jeff (Joan) Helmer of Ludlow, Doug (Amy) Helmer of Union, Eddie Helmer of Ludlow, Larry Redding of Bromley; daughter, Laura Helmer of Alexandria; 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Bruin.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 10:00 AM to the hour of Service at 12:00 Noon all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, Kentucky 41016.

Interment in Floral Hills Memorial Garden, Taylor Mill.
