William Stith

William “Bill” Stith, 91, of Crestview Hills, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Emerald Trace in Elsmere. He was a retired Building Inspector for the Cities of Elsmere and Alexandria.  Bill served our country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.  He was a trombone player with the Glen Miller Army Air Corps Band.  He loved flying airplanes, collecting antique cars, listening to big band music and traveling with his wife.  He was also an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Stith (2009); daughter, Jean Ann Stith (1956) and brother Edwyn Stith.

Survivors include his son, Bill (Angela) Stith of Independence; daughter, Janet (Karl) Peter of Boulder Creek, CA; brothers, Bob Stith of Georgetown, KY, Jim Stith of Bulla, MS, Earl Stith, Jr. of Walton; sister, Marilyn McIntosh of Cincinnati; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is on Friday, September 28, 2018 from 3:30 PM until the hour of Service at 5:30 PM, followed by military honors, all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.  Cremation will follow the services.  Interment of cremains will be at a later date in Highland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place Memphis, TN 38105.
