Loretta Wilma Eldred Ehret, 95, of Ft Wright, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at VillaSpring of Erlanger.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Effie (Heath) Hearn and Joseph Hearn; husbands, Stanley Eldred, killed in WWII, and William R. Ehret; step-son, Barry Ehret;

step-daughter, Barbara Murphy and niece, Teena Watkins.

Survivors include her step-daughter, Grace Ann Waddle of Park Hills, Ky; step-son Walter Ehret (Joan) of Lewiston, MN; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her cousin, Mildred Mullins, who she was raised with like a sister; nieces, Veronica Keiner and Amanda Machala (Rick), 7 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great-nephews. Also, many cousins on both sides of her family and her long-time friend and dinner buddy, Doris Reasonover. She leaves behind her last rescue dog, Oscar.

During WWII she was a member of the Ky State Federated Womens Club that visited veterans at the VA hospital in Ft Thomas. She was a member of many organizations. A life-time member of Epworth United Methodist church where she served as Treasurer, Board Member, Junior Choir Director and was a member of the choir.  She belonged to a Women’s craft club and enjoyed all types of crafts and flower arranging.  She was also a member of the following organizations: The D-Day Women’s club, Gold Star Wives, Kelly Furnish VFW Post, Class reunion committee for Holmes High School Class of 1941, Theater Productions, Sweet Adelines. She played bass with the Footlighters and the Catholic Theatre guild and also played bass in a trio with her late friends Bob and Al, creating many happy memories.

Her generosity toward others was amazing.  She supported the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, KET Television, medical research organizations like cancer, Alzheimer’s, MS and many others.

She was a major supporter of all things music and animal related.  She supported many animal rescue groups, from cats and dogs to horses, whales, seals, elephants and tigers.  She was never without pets over her entire life, most of which were rescue animals.

She retired at the age of 89 as the office manager for Dr Mitchell Ede, dermatologist, after 38 years of service.

Visitation is on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and Monday 10:00 AM with Service following at 11:00 AM all at Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, 1438 Cox Avenue, Erlanger, Ky 41018.

Interment in Highland Cemetery, Ft Mitchell.
