Nancy King
Nancy (Cross) King, 77, of Union, passed away suddenly on October 3, 2017. Nancy was surrounded by her family when she drifted off to be with the Lord. She was born to Mike and Jean (Maloney) Cross of Bromley, KY on February 27, 1940. Nancy went to St. James Elementary School and Dixie Heights High School. Nancy never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face. She was full of life. Everyone she met fell in love with her at first sight. She had a great love of people (especially her grandkids), animals, and nature. You could always count on Nancy for an infectious laugh and kind words. She enjoyed getting together for lunch with her high school class of 1958 “Dixie Chicks”. Nancy was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a long-time member of Big Bone Baptist Church and a retiree from Union Learning Center in Union, KY.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Jean (Maloney) Cross and Mike Cross of Bromley and sister, Irene (Cross) Smith of New Whiteland, IN.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 58 years, Wayne King of Union; dearly beloved pet, Mandy; daughters, Nena (King) Jerauld of Florence, Dorothy (King) Dolwick (Tom Miller) and son, Eric King (Kym) of Ludlow; grandchildren: Jamie Combs (Matt) of Florence, Chase King (Meaghan) of Ludlow, Tiffany Conners (Tony) of Florence, Derek King and Hanna King of Ludlow; 8 great grandchildren; brothers: Mike Cross of Rising Sun, IN, Joe Cross (Tina) of Latonia, Pat Cross (Margie) of Edgewood, and several loving aunts and cousins, including Judy (Beck) Walker of Hebron, KY and Norma Jo (Cross) Willoughby of Mt. Sterling, KY.
Visitation is on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10:00 AM until the hour of Memorial Service at 12:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
