Jewell Phelps
Jewell Phelps, 85, of Ludlow, earned her wings on Monday, August 21, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood.
We lost her a little before 5:30 the day of the eclipse. It was as if God was opening the gates of heaven for this awesome woman. Heaven is definitely a brighter place. There's no doubt in anyone's mind where she is. She was one of the greatest believers we've ever known.
‘How do you explain this beautiful Jewel. In her old house on Audrey Street in Ludlow, literally every inch of the living room walls were covered with pictures of her family. Her husband was at the kitchen table drinking coffee and churning homemade ice cream, there was a picture of Jesus in the room with her along with her "Be An Angel Don't Smoke" plaque, and her dog was laying with her. She loved God, her family and her dogs. She didn't need it anymore complicated than that!
She had 19 family members packed around her in a tiny room. A CD she loved that was made by a son who had passed before her was playing
as well.
She left this world surrounded by lots of love and we will all rest easy knowing that the very second the lights went out here they lit up for her in eternity.
(Written by her grandson, Donnie Scheid).
