Shawn “Matthew” Crowley, 40 of Newport, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2016 at his residence. Matthew was a long-time member of Newport First Church of the Nazarene and most recently attended Community Family Church in Independence. He proudly served our country in the U. S. Navy where he was an intermediate Electronics and Avionics Technician. His son was his world. He was known for his amazing smile and good nature. He never met a stranger and was a friend to all. Matthew graduated from Ludlow High school where he excelled in all kinds of sports, particularly basketball and football. He was a talented artist and writer who loved music, especially playing the guitar.
Survivors include his son, Matthew Isaac Stidham of Ludlow, mother, Jeri “Tucky” Crowley of Newport; brother, William Scott Crowley of Batavia, Ohio; sisters, Amy Crowley of Cincinnati, and Julie Pemberton of Newport; 9 nieces and nephews.
Matthew was preceded in death by his father, William Crowley (1981).
Visitation is on Saturday, December 31, 2016 from 10:00 AM till the hour of Service at 11:00 AM all at Newport First Church of the Nazarene, 830 York St, Newport, KY 41071.
Interment on January 3, 2016 with funeral procession departing Ronald B Jones Funeral Home at 1:00PM going to Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown, KY.
