Charlotte Nienaber
Charlotte (Lohmeier) Nienaber, 70, of Ft. Wright, passed away on Wednesday, April 06, 2016 surrounded by family and friends at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood, KY. Charlotte was born in Covington, KY on February 9, 1946, becoming the older twin of Charlene, the baby sister of Donna, and one of the three children of Roland ‘Sarge’ and Jewell Lohmeier. Charlotte was a 1964 graduate of Ludlow High School and a graduate of Marinello Cosmetology School. She worked as a professional cosmetologist at the Ludlow Beauty Salon and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ludlow. She married Jack Nienaber on May 11, 1968, and had one child, her daughter, Julia. She volunteered for fundraiser follies at Redwood and the Fort Wright Civic Club. Charlotte honored the solemnity in life but also added a smile, a laugh, and even a moment of irreverence to tough journeys. Charlotte was a caregiver who had a big heart. With a strong will and a love of life and others, she shouldered her 6-year battle with cancer with independence and grace. Charlotte made life more beautiful, not only through her being, but through her profession as a cosmetologist and through her love of flowers and her commitment to make the world sparkle just a bit brighter. To commemorate that spirit, a memorial tree will be donated to the city of Ft. Wright in her name.
She is survived by her husband, John ‘Jack’ Nienaber, her daughter, Julia Nienaber Hurst and her grandsons, Riley and Lucas Hurst, all of Ft. Wright, KY; sisters, Charlene (David) Hammonds of Trenton, OH, Donna (Ted) Fettig of Union, KY; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 10:30 AM to the hour of Memorial Service at 12:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of donor’s choice.
