Letha Evans
Letha S. Evans, 94, of Ft. Wright, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood. She had been a New York school teacher for over 35 years in the New Hyde Park school system. She was a President of the Grand Rapids Silver K Ladies Kiwanis Club and recipient of the prestigious Hickson Award. Letha was a world-class runner who held three world records for half marathons in 1997, 1998 and 1999. She graduated from the University of North Carolina and received her Masters from Hofstra University.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 71 years, William “Bill” R. Evans; son, William S. (Patricia Felton) Evans of Littleton, CO; daughter, Poppy (Robert McCullough) Evans of Park Hills and grandson, Evan MacVeigh.
Visitation in on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 10:00 AM to the hour of Service at 11:00 AM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
Interment in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Madonna Manor, 2344 Amsterdam Road, Villa Hills, KY 41017.
