Marguerite Crowley
Marguerite Lennon Crowley, 93, of Crestview Hills, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Village Care Center in Erlanger. Marguerite Lennon was born to Aelred Lennon and Kathleen Toas Lennon on December 11, 1921. She attended Catholic Schools all her life and was a graduate of Ursuline College for Women in Cleveland with a degree in chemistry. She also has a MED from Xavier University in Cincinnati. Marguerite was married to Bart A. Crowley in 1944 and they enjoyed 48 years of marriage until Bart died in 1992. They raised a family of 9 children, their first child, Kathleen, died in 1948. Marguerite worked as a Chemist before her marriage. She became a science teacher at St. James School in Ludlow where she worked for 12 happy years. She also taught Real Estate Classes at NKU for three years, she then went to work for Thomas More College and taught there for 10. She was always active in church and community. She was also very active at St. James Church. She was President of the Altar Society and Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. Marguerite was a volunteer in the pastoral care department at St. Elizabeth Hospital and also did volunteer work at Prince of Peace School. She was a founder and officer of Mary’s Hope, an organization of men and women dedicated to helping disadvantaged women and children. Marguerite was very active at St. Agnes Parish. She is a past President of the Parish Council and a past member of the School Board for 6 years. She was a member of the Bereavement Committee for 14 years and of the Welcoming Committee for about 20 years. Marguerite was a Eucharistic Minister and a visitor to the sick. She loved children even into their middle age.
She was preceded in death by her husband and 3 children, Gerald Nalley, Carolyn Horne, Kathleen Crowley and looks forward to seeing them and her granddaughter, Katie, who died at 13 months.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Crowley of New Mexico, Timothy Crowley of Arizona, Harold Nalley of Union, John Crowley of Erlanger; daughters, Nancy Blignaut of Newport, Linda Holtgrefe of Indiana, Vivian Constible; brothers, John Lennon of Cleveland, OH, Richard Lennon of Indiana; sister, Patricia Droba of Warren, Ohio and 26 grandchildren. Praise the Lord, life was wonderful.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
Mass of Christian Burial will be on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10:30 AM in St. Agnes Church, 1680 Dixie Highway, Ft. Wright, KY 41011.
Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
