Martha "Marty" Bunch
Martha “Marty” L. Bunch, of Burlington, 97, passed away peacefully on January 17, 2015, at her residence.
She served during WWII, from 1944 to 1946, in England and France as Club Director for the American Red Cross. She dedicated most of her life to Wade YMCA in Covington as Director of the Women’s Department where she retired after 34 years. After retirement, Marty worked part-time for 25 years at Wood, Herron and Evans law firm in Cincinnati. Marty was a member of Immanuel Methodist Church in Lakeside Park for 50 years. She was an avid sportswoman who loved to play golf, tennis, volleyball and to swim.
Marty is preceded in death by her parents, William and Clara Bunch; and brothers, Byram and George Bunch.
Survivors include her dear friend of many years, Jean R. Chestnut of Burlington; sisters, Mary Nugen of New Castle, IN, Patsy Miller of Middletown, OH; special friend, Joan Craig of Symmes Township, OH; YMCA dear friends “Martha’s Bunch”; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is Thursday, January 22, 2015 from 10:00AM to the hour of service at 12:00 noon at Immanuel Methodist Church, 2551 Dixie Highway, Lakeside Park, KY 41017.
Interment in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, KY.
