Roberta Sowder
Roberta Sowder, 83, of Independence, formerly of West Covington, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood.
She and her late husband, Virgil, established the Sowder Trucking Company and later purchased the H. Johnson Moving Company in Covington which the family still owns. Roberta was a member of Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene in Erlanger. She was a leader of the Prayer Chain, distributed missionary books for people to read, and visited people in the hospital and nursing homes on behalf of the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Sowder (1990).
Survivors include her sons, James Sowder, Vernon Sowder, and William Sowder, Jr. all of Independence; daughter, Vivian Hilen of Mason, OH; 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation is on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 10:00AM to the hour of Service at 12:00 noon, all in Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, 1438 Cox Road, Erlanger, KY 41018.
Interment in Highland Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, 1438 Cox Avenue, Erlanger, Kentucky 41018.
