Michael Edward “Ted” McCracken, 65, of Independence, passed away on Sunday, August 14, 2016 at his residence. He was a musician who played in the Ted McCracken and the Memory Makers Band. Music was his life since he was in his first band at 11 years old. He held tributes to Elvis to benefit nonprofit organizations appearing on Jerry Lewis, Paul Dickson and
Dick Von Hoene
(The Cool Ghoul) shows. He was a member of St. Cecelia’s Church in Independence.
Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda McCracken of Independence; sons, Michael (Bobbie) McCracken of Riverside, CA, Raymond (Denise) Camarena of Mason, OH, Anthony Camarena of Ludlow; daughters, Margarita McCracken of Erlanger, Deanna McCracken of Florence; brothers Tony McCracken of Taylor Mill, John “Alfie” McCracken of Batavia, OH; sisters, Margaret Allen of Blairesville, PA, Helen Fletcher of Covington, Gloria Nichols of Latonia, Cathy Hazel of Southgate; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Ted was preceded in death by his son, Ched Camarena; brothers, Donald “Donny”, Richard, and Raymond “Pat” McCracken; and sister, Sybil Ritter.
Visitation in on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 11:00 AM to the hour of Memorial Catholic Blessing at 1:00 PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 7388 Turfway Rd, Florence, KY 41042
