John W. King, of Florence, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2015 at his residence. He was a retired Clerk for the Norfolk and Southern Railroad. John was a devoted member of Epworth Methodist Church in West Covington where he was a past chairman of the board and the trustees. He spent most of his life as a committed member of the Florence Masonic Lodge F & AM, Scottish Rite, Valley of Covington and the Eastern Star.
John proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Marjorie King, and brother George King, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 55 years Wanda King of Florence; son, Mike King (Wendy) of Hebron; daughter Michelle King of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Amy Spurrier, Emily Bowen, Lauren King and Caroline King; 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, September 11, 2015 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Visitation is also Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM all in Ronald B. Jones Funeral Home, 316 Elm Street, Ludlow, KY 41016.
Interment with military honors in Highland Cemetery.
